Careers That Measure Up!

- Experience Surveying and Spatial Careers -

Facilitated by the Spatial Sciences Institute with support from the Tasmanian Education Departments Guaranteeing Futures - Cradle Coast Youth Transitions Taskforce, the Careers That Measure Up program brought together 14 High School students from around Tasmania.  To be eligible, students had to have a keen interest in engineering and technology, demonstrate extended maths and science skills, be recommended by their Maths/Science teacher and supported by their school Principal.  The program, which was free to participants, ran from June 1st to 3rd and allowed the students to experience a diverse range of spatial technologies, spatial applications and careers.

The camp provided students with an authentic experience through interaction with a range of industry professionals and university lecturers.  Students participating in the program would then be better informed to take actions, make plans and get organised towards a career in this cutting edge, high growth industry
